Home-based childcare & education in Gisborne
We are guided by the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum – Te Whāriki. Te Whāriki is founded on the following aspirations for children: to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.

What we can provide
We aim to provide the highest quality of care and education for your child
Pohutukawa Kids home based childcare & education offers quality care and education in the home. We cater for children aged 0 to 5 years and are available 7 days a week.
Flexible hours
Hours that fit around parents and whānau needs, with experienced educators willing to work flexibly.
7 days a week care
Pohutukawa Kids is available seven days a week, for children aged 0 to 5 years.
20 free hours
20 free hours* each week for 3–5 year olds, with an attestation form completed and returned.
WINZ subsidies
Work and Income childcare subsidies are available. Special conditions apply.

One educator and a maximum of four children means individual attention as well as a quality programme, with visiting teachers supporting every child, family and educator.
