Our philosophy & values

Pohutukawa Kids is a home-away-from-home where the warmth, trust and aroha are all woven into the heart and essence of our relationship with tamariki and whānau.

We acknowledge the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are committed to embracing our bicultural heritage and the cultural diversity of Aotearoa. We are guided by Te Whariki, where visiting teachers and educators weave a holistic curriculum which supports children’s learning and development in their home-based setting and the wider context of the child’s world.

We believe in supporting children to be resilient and courageous, developing a sense of belonging through forming strong connections with whānau, educators, visiting teachers and the community. At Pohutukawa Kids, safe and caring environments nurture lifelong passions for exploration and wonder.
